Miles Kennedy
Non-Executive Chairman

Mr Kennedy has held directorships of Australian listed resource companies for the past 30 years. Mr Kennedy was formerly the Chairman of Kimberley Diamond Co, which developed the Ellendale diamond mine in Western Australia. He lives in Perth, Western Australia.


Stephen Wetherall
Chief Executive Officer / Managing Director

Mr Wetherall is a qualified chartered accountant with more than 20 years experience in financial and operational management, corporate transactions and strategic planning. He has held senior financial and executive roles with global diamond giant De Beers and London-listed Gem Diamonds. In his roles at De Beers and Gem, he built an enviable understanding of the diamond industry from exploration through to retail. He resides in Perth, Western Australia.


Nick Selby
Executive Director Operations

Mr Selby is an extraction metallurgist with 35 years' experience in the mining industry. He began his career with De Beers, where he spent 19 years in a range of technical roles. Mr Selby joined Gem Diamonds in 2005, where he was responsible for establishing diamond projects in various countries including Angola, Australia and DRC, the Central African Republic, Indonesia, Lesotho and Botswana.


Ross Stanley
Non-Executive Director

Mr Stanley has an extensive background in the resources industry in Australia and Africa, specialising in drilling and related exploration and mining services. He was the founder and Managing Director of ASX-listed Stanley Mining Services prior to its merger with Layne Christensen in 1997. Mr Stanley was also a major shareholder and non-executive director of Perth-based gold miner Equigold NL, which was taken over by Lihir Gold for A$1.1 billion in 2008. He is also a non-executive director of emerging Cambodian gold miner Emerald Resources NL (ASX:EMR).


Neil Kaner
Chief Technical Officer

Mr Kaner is a qualified mining engineer with over 35 years of operational, corporate and consulting experience predominantly in diamond and base metal mining in Southern Africa, Asia and Australia. He has been involved in developing new mines in Botswana and Lesotho and has held senior operational and technical roles with De Beers and Gem Diamonds. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and resides in Perth, Western Australia


Richard Price
Group Mineral Resource Manager

Richard Price is a geologist with nearly 30 years’ experience in the diamond mining and exploration industry. Mr Price has extensive experience in diamond exploration, diamond evaluation projects and diamond mine production in Australia and Southern Africa. He worked for De Beers for 21 years in a range of roles, covering exploration, resource evaluation for both kimberlite pipes and tailings, and mine production. He was Geological Evaluation Projects Manager at Jwaneng Diamond Mine in Botswana where he managed a major resource evaluation project, and more recently was Mineral Resource Manager at Kimberley Diamond Company. He has been with Lucapa for two years with responsibility for exploration and mineral resource management, and is the company’s Competent Person for JORC reporting requirements.


Alex Kidman
Principal Group Projects

Mr Kidman is a geologist with over 10 years’ experience in the diamond mining industry, having started his career exploring for alluvial diamonds in Angola, he joined the Gem Diamonds group in 2006 being utilised in a number of technical and project management roles throughout the group. He subsequently settled in Australia working for the Ellendale mine and consulting on other Australian diamond projects before joining Lucapa. Mr Kidman has experience operating in multiple jurisdictions around the world including Angola, DRC, Indonesia, Australia, South Africa and Lesotho. He gained an MSci degree in Geology from the University of Birmingham and is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).


Johan Van Wyk
Group Finance Manager

Mr van Wyk is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and has more than 25 years’ experience in corporate finance, financial reporting and related risk management. This includes senior financial positions held at Barloworld Limited in Johannesburg, South Africa and more recently in the diamond industry in Australia at the Ellendale mine.


Mark Clements
Company Secretary

Mr Clements gained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a member of both the Australian Institute Company Directors and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries in Australia. Mr Clements currently holds the position of Company Secretary of a number of publically listed companies and has experience in corporate finance, accounting and administration, capital raising and ASX Compliance and regulatory requirements.
